There are more high-producing, well-run real estate teams with commission incomes in the multimillion-dollar mark in Keller Williams than in most real estate companies. That’s not just an opinion. It is also a fact and it doesn’t happen by accident. These numbers, out in the stratosphere for most Realtors, result directly from a deep-rooted philosophy and a modeled system. It starts with the CEO having a vested interest in the success of each and every Realtor and it follows through to every person in the company, in every market center – around the world. The numbers do not lie.
Now think of the opposite. Not working in an office where your brand is not valued. Where it’s left to the Realtor to make the world aware of his or her brand, business, and services. What do Realtors do when they’re left on their own to with some, little or no vested interest from the brokerage in growing his or her brand?
They compromise. They may have to deal with a tight marketing budget or miss the chance for a crucial hire like an executive assistant or buyer’s agent. Do they have health care for themselves? How about for their family? Retirement? Anyone in the business for a few years will see good people leave because they couldn’t create their business successfully. They had to go back into the 9-5 workplace. We all know entrepreneurs do not commonly thrive in that environment either. Those folks could have had a better life if they could have devoted more resources to their business and were better educated and supported than in the brokerage they chose.
It’s true most Realtors working for a brokerage without the Keller Williams philosophies, that getting to that stratospheric level in your real estate career can be that much harder. You need to be in an environment where these teams thrive! The good news is that you can move toward attaining your career goals. You can move to where these teams work, learn and grow together. You can put yourself in a position to launch your career to new heights.
The Winning Philosophy.
How does the philosophy of Keller Williams affect you?
Keller Williams is the result of an inspired vision. Our talented team of associates who
created Keller Williams was charged with a monumental goal: “Create the industry’s
finest interdependent real estate company.”
Interdependent meaning one cannot exist without the other. Looking at that another way it means that one needs the other to exist, to survive, to thrive. It’s not so much a philosophy as a truth. We are none of us an island, we all depend on each other. Business is no different, especially in the discipline of real estate. Saying anything else is pure arrogance.
There’s a model to what happens at this company. You don’t have to rebuild it or create your own. Take commission for example. The Keller Williams Team has discovered a way to champion the highest possible commission structure within a full support environment with expansive profit potentials for both broker and associate.
This method combines what is usually incompatible—achieving both associates and brokers careers and income goals.
They then went one step further by advocating the concept that a commission program would be just one form of compensation associates would have and not the only one. (We’ll get into that in a future post!)
The Real Value of a Hire
You’ll hear that Keller Williams values the education, development, and personal successes of its Realtors. That’s simply because if the company successfully develops its associates, then its associates will successfully develop the company.
Again, one cannot exist without the other.
What makes this task so significant is the realization that compromise is inherent in so
many real estate companies. For instance, high commission plans usually mean no
support, no education, and no team environment. Superior support, education and team
environment usually lead to low commission plans. Neither compromise creates a win-win
company.
Take a moment here and think of what you’re compromising right now.
Keller Williams is interdependently designed to put all of these compromises to rest and incorporate an incomparable set of concepts found in no other real estate company.
Putting Money Where My Mouth Is
At this point, you either see the logic in what I’m saying or you’re questioning if any of this can happen.
I’ve done it. I’ve made it happen for me. I’m surrounded by leaders and innovators every day who inspire me to be better than I was yesterday. Sliding backward in our environment is harder to do than falling forward. Mistakes are lessons learned and advice on moving on is offered freely and education happens around the clock.
The Keller Williams system and philosophy are what we follow. It’s helped to make our market center become Number 1 in recruiting in the entire company for our entire region!
Many days of my week are spent in serving others by helping them make their career goals/dreams/visions come true. It’s amazing how full your life can be when you spend it helping others and are surrounded by others helping you.
The Hard Truth About Working Smarter
I’m not exaggerating when I say that there is a real truth that as an associate Realtor here, you can change your life for the better. Life is short and we offer the possibility and probability of helping you make it a great one!
It takes hard work, a lot of learning (our education level has been likened by many to attempt to take a sip of water from the full-on force of a firefighter’s water hose) and a willingness to get out of one’s comfort zone. The reward, however, is more than worth it when you think of being able to reach goals never before possible, and then setting new ones higher and more spectacular than the goals before them and so on, and so on.
